Marc S. Wagner graduated from Temple University in 1971 and has been a practicing CPA since 1975. He started his own business in July of 1980. He achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation in 1987 and has been a Certified Funds Specialist since 1998. Marc has built his practice by using his knowledge of financial planning combined with his tax expertise to formulate programs that have helped clients to pursue their financial goals.
Marc gets to know his clients and their finances by preparing tax returns. He then uses the insight this process provides him to solve problems of his clients, sometimes before the clients know they have the problem.
In addition to helping clients, Marc has helped hundreds of other accountants learn and practice in the financial services industry. He was a mentor to previous broker dealer new Avantax representatives and served as a Chapter Director for Avantax Investment ServicesSM by running several instructional meetings each year.
As an accomplished public speaker, Marc often lectures other planners on the techniques that have made him successful. Marc has addressed the Congress of the United States on tax matters and has been to Washington to help explain financial planning issues to members of Congress. He has also spoken before the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania legislature on financial planning issues, helping to get laws passed that have allowed accountants to ethically provide the financial planning services that their clients require.
He is insurance licensed and an Investment Adviser Representative holding FINRA Series 6 (Investment Company Products/ Variable Contracts Representative), Series 7 ( General Securities Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam).
Marc is an avid sailor and has won several trophies in his boat "Mutual Fun" in races off the New Jersey Coast. He also loves the game of Ice Hockey and has been a coach, a licensed referee, and a Flyers season ticket holder since the team came to Philadelphia. He also owns a horse that lives in the Colorado Rockies. Marc visits him several times a year to work cattle roundups and drives.
Marc is married and the proud parent of an adult son.
